Stargirl, is an American superhero television series created by Geoff Johns that premiered on streaming service DC Universe. while at zoic studios vancouver i was asked to help work out a number of designs for the show, the most notEable was the robot character stripe.

DURING THE PRODUCTION I CONTRIBUTED AS CONCEPT & BUILD SUPERVISOR / CONCEPT DESIGNER / CHARACTER ARTIST

APPROVED CONCEPTS FOR THE STRIPE ROBOT / FLIGHT MODE / AND THE FINAL VFX CHARACTER DESIGN…

DESIGNING S.T.R.I.P.E.

stripe is a giant robot and one of the main characters in dc’s stargirl. created by showrunner geoff johns, the character of stripe is actually piloted by stargirls step father pat dugan.

being brought into the design process very early allowed me to work closly with the vfx supervisor & creative teams to “work out” how the final design was going to take shape, and later the model we created was sent to legacy effects who built a massive onset version of the vfx model.

THE ABOVE IMAGE SHOWS THE PRACTICAL ON SET VERSION OF STRIPE BUILT BY THE AMAZING TEAM AT LEGACY EFFECTS YOU CAN SEE MORE HERE ON THEIR SITE

and here are some examples of the vfx model of stripe in action.
