IN 2016 the CHARACTER DEPARTMENT AT ZOIC STUDIOS VANCOUVER BEGAN CONCEPT AND VFX WORK ON THE NETFLIX PRODUCTION A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS. THE PROJECT LED TO US CREATING SEVERAL CG CREATURES AND THE DIGITAL SUNNY ASSET.

FULL CG "Sunny" CHARACTER
The asset department was tasked to develop a high res full CG digital character of sunny the youngest of the Baudelaire children. In close ups the CG character was used to augment the young actor, how ever in many shots the action that was required called for the full cg character to be used instead.

THE WINGED LIZARD
The first creature our character team needed to design for the series was the adorable winged lizard, Uncle Monty’s flying side kick. I provided the concept model and the approved design while overseeing the final asset production.

THE INCREDIBLY DEADLY VIPER
A full CG version of the character was required to allow for the scripted action and interaction with Sunny. We based the approved design on combined elements from different snakes. I provided the concept model and the final design while overseeing the final asset production.

The Screeching Iguana
For the iguana we needed to design the addition of neck frills and growing spikes. These elements where added to a full CG iguana asset we developed based on an on set stand in. I provided the concept model and the final design while overseeing the final asset production.
